What is System Integration?
System Integration is a process that establishes a connection between multiple IT systems and applications within an enterprise allowing them to work cohesively in a coordinated and unified manner.
In simple words, System Integration allows the scattered information subsystems of an organization to fit together. So they stay properly coordinated and integrated. It is an intricate building process that connects organizations function from varying systems, streamlining disparate systems that include existing software, hardware, and other communications.
System Integration helps the organization to boost working relationships with its consumers and partners, radically enhance workflow efficiency and minimize the operational costs being incurred by the business. This feat is achieved through Business Process Management, Enterprise Application Integration, Computer Networking, and Manual Programming.
Benefits of IT System Integration
Once the organization has considered modernizing the integration of its work environment, the benefits that follow are massive. From allowing the workforce to reduce their mundane data entry to ensuring better levels of security, a Modernized IT environment can offer endless rewards. The other benefits of System Integration for the enterprise include:
Simple to use
The intricacy of varying business processes and the applications can be completely eliminated with the help of Integrated Infrastructure. A simple-to-use, integrated architecture is intuitive and allows changes to be made from one screen rather than performing on multiple computer screens involving varying business processes running one after another.
Cost expenditure can be greatly reduced as the decision to manage and control all your companies data and applications is made possible from a single platform. With System Integration, installation costs for different systems and applications, managing and maintaining loads of in-house equipment can be nullified.
Better levels of Security
With System Integration, organizations are more easily capable of building the necessary security tools to prevent unauthorized access and better meet compliance mandates. You must know that the more tools you have, the harder it gets for a security system to be installed and managed.
Business decisions can be made much more effectively with the real-time data offered by the System Integration tool. Businesses can track their data from scratch to the end, formulate reports on the same to make better and educated critical business decisions instead of relying on outdated legacy tools.
System Integration allows companies to stay up-to-date and properly informed about the information which can be accessed from anywhere.
The efficiency and Productivity of the employees will be achieved with the integrated and modernized environment. Automation helps to reduce the monotonous and time-consuming tasks so that employees can redirect their focus more on productive projects. Also, with retaining and hiring talent, an integrated system enables the company to improve the quality of its employee, ensuring no money is wasted on recruiting more human resources for menial tasks.
System Integration is Crucial for Digital Transformation
Modern businesses along with how they work nowadays have drastically changed. Customers do not wait days for their order to be delivered. They need immediate response and quick deliveries. With a fully integrated and modernized system environment, any business will be able to meet the needs of its customers.
Most of the businesses already have fully optimized digital businesses, but quite frankly, they do not have the knowledge or expertise to make use of it. Other companies having concerns about security, step behind from moving forward. IT System Integration is a devised strategy that empowers businesses to securely and reliably connect with different technologies, cloud applications, and business processes in a quick configurable providing business hope to stand and compete in the existing digital world.

Active and Passive Networking: System Integration
Micronova’s approach to solution designing involves the below components.
- Passive Cabling
- Server Room Setup
- Rack and Enclosures
- Fire Alarm System
- Access Control
- Active Switching
- IP Surveillance
- Voice & Telephony
- UTM & Firewall
- PA System
- Power Backup
- Documentation & Audit
Passive Network Components:
It is now pretty common to use Structured Cabling for interconnecting the various active devices within an IP network. The commonly used passive components in an IP Network for Structured Cabling are listed below:
Cat 6 UTP (Un-shielded Twisted Pair) Copper Cables
– These are the network cables that link a PC / endpoint to a switch in the network. They are also often used to provide interconnectivity between switches if the distance is less than 90 meters, which is the distance they support for data transmission without the use of a repeater (repeater function is enabled by using network switches).
Cat 6 UTP Patch Cords
– These are factory one meter/2 meter crimped cables with RJ-45 connectors installed on both ends. It is not recommended that the Cat 6 cables be terminated directly either in the network switch or at the PC / endpoint. Only the patch cords terminate on both devices and connect via I / O Box and UTP patch panel to the Cat 6 Network cable.
I/O Box and Face Plate:
A UTP patch cord is used for connecting Face Plate with the PC’s network port. Noth I/O Box and Face Plate are placed in close proximity to the computers. Behind the I/O Box, The CAT 6 UTP cable coming from the switch terminates into a permanent connection.
UTP Patch Panel:
To find out terminating all the CAT 6 cables that come from various endpoints/PC’s within the network ( I/O Box) to the rack, UTP Patch Panel is used. These are permanent connections behind the UTP Patch Cords connect and UTP Patch Panel in front of the network switches from their respective ports. With this, flexible movement, adds and changes without any disturbances to the switch ports. Every port within the patch panel is labelled so that it becomes easy to identify the nodes they are connected to.
Optical Fiber Cables:
These cables are used to carry data over the 90 meters range. Unlike electrical signals used by UTP cables, Optic Fiber Cables use light for data transmission. Without having to repeat the signals in between, these cables can carry data for longer distances and sometimes a few kilometers. Basically, these cables are of two types- Single and Multi-Mode cables. Single-mode cables are used for long-distance and high bandwidth connections while the multi-mode is used for short distances. These are connected directly to the Fibre Patch Panel at both ends. Generally, there come in the multiples of 6 cores i.e., 6, 12, and 24 which are common. Two cores are will be used for every connection – one for receiving and the other for transmitting data.
Active Networking Components Involves,
- Network Switches
- Smart (or intelligent) switches
- Enterprise managed (or fully managed) switches
- Layer 3 Switches/Chassis
Every client today requires higher bandwidth, scalability, convergence, interoperability. Micronova offers switching solutions tailored to the needs of the customers.
Firewalls/UTM For Perimeter Security
As the network grows and from a closed loop to more open and sophistication, threats from within and outside grow exponentially. Any company that depends on its IT infrastructure for its business has to have robust security that meets the company’s needs.
Firewalls/UTM Device :
